The Primary Care Informatics group is active in telemedicine research, particularly in the area of telemonitoring of patients with chronic diseases. Two successful pilots have been completed - one using continuous, and one intermittent monitoring. The latter has gone on to be a pan-European study, for which our NHSnet hub is the data-collecting centre for the UK arm.

The group is currently working on an evaluation methodology for the implementation of a teledermatology service.
