The Doctors Desk was the first and seminal project for the group. It piloted the linkage of individual practice's networks to the NHSnet - via its hub at St. George's - some three years before this was nationally rolled out as the solution for primary care. The project also linked access to mail, information, educational and telemedicine applications - all accessed through a web browser.
